Short Mat Update

Firstly, another victory for the team of nine who played away against Horsemonden on Thursday last. Good stuff! Sorry for the two who turned up to roll-ups!

Now, this coming week we are also away at Ditton on Tuesday (20th) so make your roll-ups on Monday and Thursday.

We need more names for the match away at Harrietsham on Monday March 4th, again at 2pm. Please sign up on the sheet in the clubhouse when you’re next there. It’s a 3 mat venue so more names needed!

How are your matches going in the club competitions? Finals afternoon is Wednesday 10th April so just 7 weeks away. Some triples have 4 matches to play before then so get some dates in the diary soon please!

But mostly, enjoy your bowling!

Latest News & Presentation Charity Cheque

It will soon be time to open our outdoor green in April. Work has been underway all winter with spraying to control moss and hollow tining to improve drainage. It won’t be long before the grass is cut 3 times a week. Dare I say it, Marden does have one of the best bowls greens in Kent?

The official opening of the green for the summer season is Saturday 27th April. Our Open Day is later this year, Sunday 26th May. If you are interested in coming along sooner then please contact me. We are a very sociable crowd and have a mixture of casual and more serious bowling.

Finally, cheques were presented to the two local hospices at our Christmas Social in December. The total amount split between them was £1,010 raised at our Charity Day last August.
