Marden is situated in the Weald of Kent just eight miles south of Maidstone on the B2079 and on the main line rail route from Ashford to London.
Marden Bowls Club is a small Wealden village club with about 65 members but it has a very full summer fixture list with teams competing in the Weald of Kent League, the Maidstone & District League, Maidstone Triples League and Millennium League with friendly fixtures on most week ends. During the winter months the clubhouse is transformed into a short mat bowls facility with two mats and friendly fixtures are arranged with other local clubs.
We boast one of the best greens in the county and regularly host county events and in 2021 we will once again be hosting the Kent Middleton Cup games.
2021 is our 50th anniversary and we have a celebration day on 12th July and games with the KCBA, KCPPBA and Cranbrook, who are celebrating their Centenary.
As with most clubs we need new members and would welcome anyone especially from the village joining this thriving club. We are located in the centre of the village near to the green grocers shop on the junction of Howland Road and Albion Road, with access to the club via the driveway of Bowling Green Cottage. On street parking can sometimes be a problem but there is a village car park situated next to the library as shown on the sketch below.
