Outdoor and indoor bowling – new bowlers and social members welcome

Welcome

Welcome to the Marden Bowls Club website – we hope you find it interesting and informative. Situated in Marden village, in the Weald of Kent, our club offers outdoor and indoor bowling, and we welcome both bowling and social members. Whether joining us as a new member, or just visiting the village for a few days, you can be assured of a warm welcome.

Bowling at Marden

Our outdoor summer season runs from late April until mid-September, with regular casual bowling sessions, friendly matches against local clubs, and various league matches. In winter, our clubhouse becomes a two-rink short mat bowling facility, and we hold various social events throughout the year.

We laugh a lot and dress is casual, apart from asking for a change into flat-soled shoes to protect the expensive carpets we bowl on. The raffle prizes were extensive and a big thank you to the Little Marden Farm Shop for the hamper they donated. Final total raised £1,010. This will be shared equally between the Weald of Kent Hospice and the Heart of Kent Hospice. Thanks to all those members that donated...

Clubhouse Naming Ceremony

At the end of May we had a ceremony to name our Clubhouse “The Mick Collins Clubhouse”. This took place following a Millennium League match against Ditton Bowls Club. Sadly, Mick passed away last November after spending many years working tirelessly at Marden Bowls Club and Marden Village Club. Our President Ray Lane and Geoff Chapman, General Secretary and past President of Kent Bowling Association, made introduction speeches about Mick’s contribution over the years to both his Club and the...
