Marden Bowls Club

Last Time out Paul Hutson pockets were ‘heavy with coin’ at the end of the evening, whereas Sharon Lander stayed loyal to horse number 4 but did eventually win a race!! We are holding another event in August. Last year it was well supported and raised much-needed funds for the club and it was a chance to gather socially. It was a very enjoyable evening, this event will be held on grass or alternatively indoors if the weather is inclement....

Congratulations to Paul Hutson, who successfully won his County Unbadged Divisional final on Tuesday evening at Maidstone against Paul Grant from Appleyard. Paul played very well, winning 21-9 in very warm conditions. Paul qualifies for the Kent Unbadged Singles Quarter Final at Maidstone on 18th July. A small but knowledgeable group of members were there to cheer him on and were rewarded afterwards with drinks in the bar!

  A big thank you to all those who attended and supported our presentation awards on Saturday. A special mention should go towards those who worked hard behind the scenes to make the event go off really well, and to all those who contributed to our bumper raffle. A further request for help again, we have only 5 active members who regularly help with the green, surrounds, and maintenance. As the weather improves, there is always something to do, if you have some time available where you could help, the volunteers are at the club on a Thursday morning during the winter period, and on a Wednesday morning during the outdoor summer bowling season. Usually for only a couple of hours, and it does not have to be every week!
